Alabama Medical Education Consortium
Hospital / Programs
AMEC's focus has always been to increase the number of physicians serving in Alabama. The first effort in that mission was to provide community-based core sites throughout the State for training third and fourth year Osteopathic medical students.
All the hospitals listed began their journey to become a teaching hospital by developing core sites for training third and fourth year medical students. The development of Graduate Medical Education programs is another step in their becoming an accredited teaching hospital. These new GME programs illustrate an important effort to grow the number of physicians serving Alabamians. AMEC is pleased to be a part of this effort.
